NFL picks against the spread: Look to Andrew Luck for a Colts cover vs. Patriots

New, comment

A look at the Sunday late games and our picks

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

The Sunday late games have two of the better matchups of the week. The game that features Andrew Luck and Tom Brady will be fun to see and Ravens/Steelers is always heated. Here are our picks for those games, looking of course at the spread and not the actual winners.

New Orleans Saints (-6) at Oakland Raiders: The Saints are hitting their stride and Darren McFadden's absence is going to cost Oakland. Pick: Saints, -6.

San Diego Chargers at Denver Broncos (-8): Peyton Manning and Denver are rolling, while you never kow exactly what you will get with the Chargers. That uncertainty tells me that the Broncos are the pick to go with. Give the points and take the Broncos, -8.

Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots (-10): No team has a better second half record in recent history than Tom Brady and the Pats. However, their defensive issues will allow rookie stud Andrew Luck to keep the Colts on their surprising season. 10 points is too much to give up. Take the points and the Colts.

Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger is out, which means Byron Leftwich is in. That doesn't exactly scare me. This rivalry game is always heated, but you have to like the Ravens by more than a field goal. Pick: Ravens, -3.5.
