So far this season, O'Brien Schofield has 4 sacks, just .5 away from tying his total from the 2011 season.
Unfortunately, he is going to remain at 4. Schofield announced on Twitter on Monday that he is out for the season after rolling his ankle under Darnell Dockett against the Packers last Sunday. Here was the Tweet:
I'm out for the season. I'm sorry Cardinal fans. But I will be back and stronger then ever. This yr was just a preview of why is to Come.

The Cardinals will now likely turn to Quentin Groves to take over his position at outside linebacker, hoping that he can have a similar (or greater) effect rushing the passer. For Schofield, it puts an end to a very promising season.
His goal was to reach 10 sacks, but with just 7 games remaining on the schedule, he would have had to average almost one per game. Whether he would have made his goal is up for debate, but what we do know is that he constantly applied pressure to opposing quarterbacks and made offensive lines be wary of him.
In his first full season as a starter, I believe Schofield fared well. He is still young and while we do not know the extent of the ankle injury yet, I am sure it is something he will be able to come back from in time for training camp.
Get well, O'Brien!
