The NFC and AFC Pro Bowl teams were announced and only one Arizona Cardinals player has made the squad outright. Second-year player Patrick Peterson was named to the NFC squad at cornerback, just a season after being named to the Pro Bowl as a returner.
Peterson is second in the NFL in interceptions with seven, and had a streak of four straight games with a pick snapped this past Sunday.
Only one other player, Hall of Famer Rod Woodson was named to the Pro Bowl both as a cornerback and returner. He is the only player in team history other than Vai Sikahema to make the Pro Bowl in his first two seasons in the league.
There were two players named as alternates at their position. Linebacker Daryl Washington and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald were named as Pro Bowl alternates, meaning that they will make the trip to Hawaii is a player ahead of them pull out because of injury, or if a Pro Bowler ahead of them is on a team that makes it to the Super Bowl.
