NFL Pro Bowl 2013: Daryl Washington 'kind of disappointed' in snub

But he plans on using the snub as motivation.

USA TODAY Sports

If there is one player most of the Arizona Cardinals fans and players feel should have been recognized with a Pro Bowl appearance, it is linebacker Daryl Washington. His numbers across the board warrant it. He talked about it after practice on Thursday, as noted on Arizona Sports.

"Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed," Washington said. "I guess today's practice kind of showed it a bit. Guys were kind of encouraging me.

"I thought I really had it in the books, but you've got to give credit to those guys in front of me, NaVorro Bowman and Patrick Willis."

It really shouldn't be surprising at all. When Adrian Wilson was named a Pro Bowl starter in 2010 after a season that he admittedly did not play well in, he said, "Someone told me, ‘You always go in a year later than you're supposed to go, and you always get that one last one when you don't really deserve it."

This is the first time that Washington has been at this level. That means if he plays at the same level next year he will likely get in.

"I don't know what I could have done," said Washington. "Maybe I could have gotten that 10th or 11th sack or something and had the record for the most sacks by an inside linebacker. I don't know. It's added motivation for next year."

I personally can't wait to see what he has in store for us next year.
