NFL picks against the spread: The Giants are back on track, despite RGIII

Our take of the Monday Night Football game

Jim O'Connor-US PRESSWIRE

Tonight's Monday Night Football game is a classic NFC East battle. The New York Giants are more or less in control of their division lead, while the Washington Redskins are playing very well as of late. Mostly it is behind the solid play of rookie quarterback Robert Griffin, III.

The Vegas line has the Giants favored by 2.5. That is reasonable. Now, the Skins have covered the last four contests against the Giants, but what matters most to me is the recent play. New York was suffering their midseason doldrums, but awoke last week to shellack the surging Green Bay Packers 38-10.

Since now is about the time New York likes to make their postseason push, Washington will be the unlucky recipients of focused play.

In the end, I'm giving away the points and saying the Giants will win by 10.
