The past 25 years, the Arizona Cardinals have been taking a trip up north for their training camp, where the weather is great and fans can get away from home, as well as the players, for a little time away from home. However, the contract between Flagstaff and Northern Arizona University ended this year and the Cardinals are looking to change the venue.
A few days ago, it was learned that the team approached the City of Glendale about hosting training camp, which makes some sense because the stadium is right there.
In a separate report, Prescott is vying to become the new home of training camp. The city would intend on building a sports complex to house the team and other things, but until that is completed, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University would host camp, much like NAU always has.
The team also intends on approaching other Valley municipalities to see if they would host camp.
As fans, how disappointing is this for you, or is it better if they stay in the Valley? Flagstaff in July/August is amazing. The weather is great and it isn't too far away.
Prescott would be very nice as well. Being in the Valley would be nice, but if anything is outside, it would be unbearable for watching.
What do you think?
