ROTB Community Mock Draft Pick 2: The Washington Redskins Select...

We continue our first round mock draft, projecting how the NFL Draft will go in April. We now are with the Washington Redskins, who after a trade, have the second overall pick. Again, psknapp makes this selection.

With the second pick, the Washington Redskins pick...

Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor. Snyder and team gave up a lot to make sure they got the second pick, and Griffin is the reason why. In any other year, there is a good chance RG3 would have been the first pick. He is an outstanding quarterback with a lot of potential, and more than a few think his ceiling is higher than Andrew Luck's. The Redskins have more than a few needs and the biggest, by far, is quarterback, so he is the obvious choice.

Now for some commentary...

While you may question what the Redskins gave up to get the number two pick, when it comes to quarterbacks, and as good a prospect as Griffin is, you take that risk. He isn't just the physical specimen that JaMarcus Russell was, he is the complete package. He has size, speed, accuracy and a great deep ball. He also has great football smarts and the internal drive to prove to people that he is the best QB in the draft.

Washington, who badly needs a QB, would be foolish not to draft him. Griffin is going to be a star.
