In what could be seen a somewhat of a surprise move, the Arizona Cardinals waived cornerback Korey Lindsey and signed former Arizona Wildcat receiver Gino Crump to their 90-man offseason roster.

Crump (6-2, 210) played two seasons at the University of Arizona where he appeared in 23 games and made 11 starts. He had 65 receptions for 610 yards and two touchdowns last season after collecting four receptions for 39 yards as a junior. Crump began his collegiate career at Glendale Community College in 2007 before redshirting at West Virginia in 2008. He joined Arizona and sat out as a transfer in 2009.

Lindsey was picked up before last season off of waivers after he was cut by the Cincinnati Bengals. He fell to the numbers game on the Cardinals, who have a ton of cornerbacks on the roster.

The signing of Crump is likely to have enough receivers on the roster to do what they want to do in practice. They waived undrafted receiver Marc Wilson when they added linebacker Quentin Groves a few days ago. I would have to guess that Crump gives them another camp body to run their drills offensively.

Don't expect much from Crump in the way of making the roster. Unless someone is absolutely fantastic, we already have a pretty good idea as to what five or six receivers will be among the final 53.
