The NFL Draft is over and now we wait for training camp in July. But now there are these draft picks that we all want to talk about and they haven't seen the field. Ideally, they will all become starters one day. But most will not start this year because the coaching staff believes in making rookies wait and earn a spot.
So we pose the question of the day -- which rookie in this year's draft class will start first?
Michael Floyd:
He is behind Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Roberts and Early Doucet. Floyd will likely make an impact on the offense, but before he starts, he will have to show a knowledge of his routes, that he can run the routes well, get open, block and haul in the football. He won't likely start Week 1, but he very well might be starting this season.
Jamell Fleming:
He sits behind Patrick Peterson and a gaggle of young cornerbacks. Greg Toler if healthy will likely start. He's done it before. Fleming has the confidence and the experience in college. Still, he probably won't see time starting right away.
Bobby Massie:
He stands currently behind Jeremy Bridges and D'Anthony Batiste in the right tackle position. Massie, if he can learn the schemes and protections, is in a great spot to be able to start this season.
Senio Kelemete:
As a guard, he is behind free agent acquisitions for the past two seasons -- Daryn Colledge and Adam Snyder. Jeremy Bridges backs them up. They also have Chris Stewart. Kelemete is only starting if there are injuries .
Justin Bethel:
As a safety, he is behind Adrian Wilson, Kerry Rhodes, James Sanders and Rashad Johnson. He has almost no chance of starting in 2012.
Ryan Lindley:
Despite what Peter King said, Lindley will not start this year. Kevin Kolb and John Skelton are the guys.
Nate Potter:
As a seventh rounder, he is hoping to make the team. But he will have to beat out Levi Brown, Bobby Massie and D'Anthony Batiste to start. Not happening.
...
So...which one will start the quickest? Massie is the favorite I would think. If not him, then it would have to be Floyd.
What do you think?
