Fake Teams is continuing their positional rankings preparing for fantasy drafts everywhere across the nation and are now on their second run of running backs. Arizona Cardinals starter Beanie Wells made the first list, but in the post that covers the runners rated 26-50, second year player Ryan Williams makes the list.
Much like Michael Floyd, who came in at number 43 among receivers, Williams comes in ranked 45th.
Here is the analysis:
Beanie isn't exactly cooking with gas. Williams is recovering from the devastating torn patella tendon and it's unclear that he's going to have the burst he had at VA Tech. For what it's worth, I was really high on Williams last year and it wouldn't be surprising to see him leapfrog Weenie Bells. Even though the Hokie isn't yet at full strength, Coach Whiz said Williams is close to the end of his rehab.
Williams is a big question mark with the serious nature of his knee injury. However, the coaching staff saw something special in him a year ago and there is something about him that makes you think that he will be as good as he could have been.
If that in fact happens, Williams could turn out to be one of the best values in the fantasy football. Many (including myself) see him overtaking Beanie in the starting lineup if he returns healthy.
