After selecting Calais Campbell, it seems that the defensive pass rush is set. On offense, my plan to put together an effective spread option offense is coming together nicely. Ryan Williams provides tremendous speed, cutting ability and a powerful running style that happens to be elusive as well.
Then there's Andre Roberts, who with his smaller stature and incredible speed, can be my number one wideout. But even in a spread offense, a quarterback is still necessary. If Robert Griffin III or Michael Vick were on the Cardinals, they would be perfect fits. However, that is not the case. While John Skelton and Kevin Kolb are certainly mobile enough, they are not the ideal fits for my option O.
Instead, I will select Early Doucet with my fourth pick. As Jesse mentioned in one of his comments yesterday, Doucet used to play quarterback in high school and was incredibly effective at it. So if I need to throw the ball, I have my guy. If I was to run him out of an option, he can do that too. He has good speed and is physical. What do you think of this pick? I think my team is far superior to Jess' given the type of football we are playing.
