The Arizona Cardinals were scheduled for two practices on Wednesday, their final day in Flagstaff. However, in Ken Whisenhunt tradition, the morning walk-through was replaced with a team field trip to the movie theater. The reason? Tyler Nickel notes it, working for SB Nation Arizona.

In all, Whiz made the decision based on a couple of different factors. He noted that the players have been working incredibly hard this week and that they deserved a little time off before they take the field against the Raiders this Friday. There is one condition, however. The players promised to hold up their end of the bargain and practice as hard as they possibly can this afternoon. We'll see if they follow through.

Before you get all crazy about having a morning off of practice when the quarterback situation is not settled, remember that was was skipped was a walk-through and that the problems the team is having wouldn't have magically been solved in that walk-through.

As for injuries, Beanie Wells will not be playing Friday, but that is not totally unexpected. "I don't know," Whisenhunt said with a lack of confidence. "He was obviously a little rusty the first day... It's going to be a function of whether his soreness level drops. He was a little sore after working the first couple of days... We'll see how he feels."

Ryan Williams, though, appears to be set for playing time against the Raiders.

In other injury news, QB Rich Bartel had a stomach virus but will be ok for Friday. Paris Lenon is close to returning from his ankle injury, but LaRod Stephens-Howling did not practice due to his groin injury. Greg Toler sat out because of a knee injury and O'Brien Schofield also sat out Wednesday afternoon's practice.
