Tom Brady is the perfect "model of consistency." He is one of the best quarterbacks to have ever played the game, working from being a sixth round pick all the way to where he is now.
But not only does he model how a good football player should be. He is also a model for the shoe brand, Uggs. Yes, you may see teenage high school girls wearing these most of the time, but Brady doesn't care.
And apparently, neither does Larry Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald had nothing but glowing things to say about the New England Patriots quarterback to Darren Urban, the Cardinals' team writer. Here is a bit of what he had to say about the two time MVP.
"He's a model of consistency. He's just unbelievable, passer rating, touchdowns-to-interceptions, the guy does it every single year. Not to mention he has the most beautiful wife in the world. So he's every man's dream ... er, every woman's dream, I mean."
Despite how much that borders on creepy, you can tell how much Fitzgerald admires a player of his caliber and probably wishes he was on the Cardinals instead. Brady is the best and Fitzgerald is the best at his position as well. It only makes sense for these two to have a bond in that way.
And just when you thought it couldn't get anymore awkward, Fitz told Urban that he, "bought a pair of Uggs just to try to be like him." Obviously, this is a joke (we hope), but it truly speaks to the level of admiration Fitzgerald has for him.
But on this Sunday, all acquaintances will be forgotten. It's back to the gridiron to see who's team is the best and to see which organization will start the 2012 season with a 2-0 record.
