NFL All-Pro Team: Daryl Washington is lone Cardinals player named

The linebacker was snubbed from the Pro Bowl, but made second team after his huge year.

USA TODAY Sports

Many fans were upset and Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington was disappointed when he was not name to the Pro Bowl this year. However, he is being recognized for his great season. Washington was named a second team All-Pro by the Associated Press.

Washington was named to the second team behind the two 49ers teammates, Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman.

Washington did a little bit of everything statistically. he had 134 tackles, nine sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and an interception.

Washington blitzes, he is there in the running game and he is used sometimes in deep coverage like a safety.

Washington was honored as an All-Pro while missing the Pro Bowl, but teammate Patrick Peterson was selected to the Pro Bowl while being snubbed from the All-Pro team.

The difference? There is no fan voting here. Peterson is very popular and made a name for himself a season ago as a punt returner. Washington played well in 2011, but was definitely under the radar.

The accolades for Washington are just beginning. Soon enough, it very well may be a first team berth and multiple trips to the Pro Bowl.
