According to Pete Roussel, the Arizona Cardinals have hired three more people to their rapidly expanding staff on Tuesday. Roussel cites via sources (since none of these moves have been officially announced) that the Cards have hired Kevin Garver as their offensive quality control coach, offered the tight ends coach job to Rick Christophel and hired Nick Rapone as the defensive backs coach.
So who are all of these people? Let's take a look.
Garver has been officially hired, per Roussel. He was the former offensive quality control coach at Alabama, where Bruce Arians was an offensive coordinator in 1997. Arians has proven that he is not afraid to hire either from the college or the pro ranks and a guy from Alabama makes sense given the success that program has had.
Christophel is the former head coach at Austin Peay, a university located in Tennessee. While Arians was the offensive coordinator at Mississippi State from 1993-95, Christophel was the wide receivers coach (91-94). Christophel has not accepted the job yet, but will presumably do so, according to Roussel. He will take the job of Freddie Kitchens, who was the only member of the coaching staff retained. Kitchens is now the team's quarterbacks coach.
As for Rapone, I could not find the connection between he and Arians, but something is bound to be released on that eventually. Rapone is the former defensive coordinator/safeties coach at Delaware. He was also a long time member of the Pittsburgh Panthers' coaching staff.
