Former Steelers, Browns coach Larry Zierlein to join Bruce Arians staff as asst. offensive line coach

Bruce Arians said that the team would have multiple coaches for the offensive line. It looks like it is really happening.

USA TODAY Sports

Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals continue to build on their coaching staff. According to Lance Zierlein, a radio host in Houston, his father Larry Zierlein will be joining Arians' staff to help with the offensive line.

Zierlein has a coaching resume that dates back to 1970. His NFL experience began in 2001, when he was the assistant offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns for four seasons, followed by a season in 2006 with the same position with the Buffalo Bills. He took over for Russ Grimm as the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach in 2007 and was there until 2009.

As noted by his son, Cards offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin was an assistant in Pittsburgh under Zierlein.

According to other reports, we have not yet heard who will be named the actual offensive line coach. If Zierlein is going to be an assistant, then there is still a name out there that has not been reported. However, this means that there will plenty of coaching help for the line. Goodwin has been an line coach, as has Zierlein, and the actual offensive line coach hasn't even been named.

This is yet another older coach. He will turn 68 this year. But the experience on the staff should yield results.

Here is a quick rundown of the coaches we know of.
