The results, based on an E-score survey that polled 1,300 people aged 13 years or higher, revealed that the 10-year veteran has a 24% dislike rate. Other recipients of this "title" include Eagles QB Michael Vick, who is still mostly remembered by the public for his dog-fighting days. This is the main cause for his 53% dislike rate, the highest on the list. Following Vick is Chargers LB Manti Te'o, who owes his unpopularity to the fake girlfriend scandal that was revealed earlier this year. Also gracing the ranks is Lions DT Ndamukon Suh, who is widely recognized as one of the "dirtiest" players in the league, as well as Cowboys QB Tony Romo, who is one of 7 QB's to make the list.
Forbes credits Palmer's unpopularity to his shaky departure from Cincinnati, which many people view as another case of an angry player forcing a trade. In his last years with the Bengals, fans began to view Palmer as a "prima donna" of sorts. Personally, I was surprised when I found out that he had been voted onto this. After all, it's not like he's been involved in any major scandal. His disagreement with the Bengals organization came a few years ago, and by now I would have expected it to blow over. He also isn't a highly controversial player like others ranked before and after him. However, considering Tom Brady also made the list, perhaps we shouldn't read too much into it.
