Falcons vs. Cardinals preview: History, stats, connections and facts

The Arizona Cardinals host the Atlanta Falcons at 1:25 PM Arizona time. Before you watch the game, here is some information for you.

History:

The two teams have met 26 times in the regular season and once in the playoffs, dating back to 1966. Arizona holds a 14-12 advantage in the regular season and won in their only matchup in the postseaon. They are 9-2 at home against Atlanta. Atlanta, though, has won the last two games, defeating Arizona 23-19 last season and 41-7 in 2010. They have won six of the last seven regular season tilts.

Matt Ryan has thrown only three interceptions, compared with Carson Palmer's 13. Atlanta's defense has allowed only nine sacks in seven games. Arizona has 20 sacks.

Atlanta has no former Cardinals on their team. Arizona has a pair of former Falcons. Kicker Jay Feely started his NFL career in Atlanta, playing from 2001-2004 for the Falcons. Linebacker John Abraham, who signed with the Cardinals in the offseason, spent the previous seven seasons in Atlanta. He is the team's career sack leader with 68.5.

Facts:

1. No team has won a game this season after playing the Seattle Seahawks. This trend is bad for the Cardinals.
