NFL injury report, Week 5: Jasper Brinkley, Daryn Colledge do not practice

An early look at this week's injury report

US PRESSWIRE

The Arizona Cardinals are now preparing for a home game matchup against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers and while the injury report is short, there are some key players that did not practice.

On Wednesday, linebacker Jasper Brinkley, guard Daryn Colledge and safety Rashad Johnson were the players that sat out Wednesday's practice. Colledge left Sunday's game with a leg injury and Brinkley left with a groin injury. Johnson is still dealing with pain from his severed fingertip.

Brinkley is technically no longer a starter, as Daryl Washington's return moves him behind Karlos Dansby. There was one interesting move with the absence of Colledge. Rookie Earl Watford, who has spent all season inactive so far, was running with the first team at left guard.

The other players on the injury report were all limited -- linebacker Kevin Minter (who is expected to play coming back from a hamstring injury), defensive lineman Ronald Talley (wrist) and defensive lineman Darnell Dockett (groin).

For the Panthers, they had four players who did not practice. The most notable was Greg Hardy, who has an illness. DT Dwan Edwards, S Quintin Mikell and CB D.J. Moore also did not practice. DT Kawann Short was limited.
