The Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers were at practice on Thursday and their injury reports are out. For the second day in a row, veteran linebacker John Abraham missed practice with a groin injury.
Before practice, Cardinals head coach advised the media that Abraham would sit out at that the decision for him to play on Sunday in the team's regular season finale "will be a game-day decision."
He was the only Arizona player to sit out of practice.
Safety Rashad Johnson (ankle) and guard Daryn Colledge (back), who both sat out on Wednesday, returned to practice on a limited basis. Linebacker Daryl Washington was also limited and was a new addition to the team's injury report with an ankle issue. It sounds like it was something that came up in practice.
All other Arizona players were full participants. They include defensive lineman Darnell Dockett (shoulder), tight end Rob Housler (groin), running back Rashard Mendenhall (finger), quarterback Carson Palmer (elbow, ankle), offensive lineman Nate Potter (ribs), linebacker Matt Shaugnessy (groin) and quarterback Drew Stanton, who was a new addition with a knee injury.
For San Francisco, receiver Mario Manningham (knee) sat out of practice again, as did linebacker Dan Skuta (foot) and defensive tackle Justin Smith (shoulder). Manningham was set to practice, but pulled out of warmups, according to Cam Inman before practice began.
Niners Nation describes the days off for Smith as a "veteran's day off," and that we can speculate seeing Quinton Patton in Manningham's place in the lineup on Sunday.
As for the rest of the players that were on the injury report, running back Frank Gore (knee), guard Mike Iupati (knee) and tight end Vance McDonald (ankle) were limited.
Linebacker Navorro Bowman (wrist), cornerback Tarell Brown (ribs), receiver Michael Crabtree (wrist, ankle) and receiver Kassim Osgood (shin) were full participants on Thursday.
