The Arizona Cardinals are looking for a fresh start under new head coach Bruce Arians, but even with the fresh start, some old ideologies and players must be retained to prevent a catastrophic collapse.

This year, the Cardinals don't have any major free agents to re-sign, but some of their oft overlooked players still need to be in the fold. Three of those names are Rashad Johnson, Greg Toler and LaRod Stephens-Howling, all young players that still have some good football left in them.

Cardinals GM Steve Keim knows that, which is why he is meeting with each of their agents this week in Indianapolis, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.

Many NFL agents and team personnel are currently there for the NFL Combine, so it is an ideal time for front office personnel and players agents to meet and try and hash out new deals before free agency begins.

Many have question whether or not guys like Stephens-Howling even have a place in this new offense given that Bruce Arians, who will be calling the plays, doesn't believe in throwing to the running backs. Still, he is a good special teams player and is no slouch when it comes to running the ball, if utilized correctly.

As for Toler and Johnson, they seem like obvious candidates for new contracts. Each of them have seen steady improvement since being drafted and with the Cardinals secondary being thin as it already is, they cannot afford to lose two more young building blocks.

While I'm not sure if new deals are going to be completely worked out this week, I would expect some progress to be made and for each side to see where the other one is in terms of an extension. Once that is done, hopefully new deals can be made soon.
