NFL Draftnews is going to be coming in hard and heavy over the next little while. As such, fans will be on quarterback watch for the Arizona Cardinals, paying particular attention to who they work out.On the team's radar is apparently N.C. State's signal caller Mike Glennon, who will have team general manager Steve Keim and assistant head coach (and QB guru) Tom Moore as an audience, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
This far, there are conflicting reports on whether or not the team had a representative to see Geno Smith's pro day, they have looked at Arizona's Matt Scott and now Glennon.
Glennon gets mixed reactions from fans. Based on what we know about Bruce Arians and his offense, he likes to take shots down the field. He needs someone that has a good enough arm. Glennon has that. What is considered a knock on him is his accuracy, which conjures up images of John Skelton, Ryan Lindley and Derek Anderson -- all guys with great arms but questionable accuracy.
What can we read into this reported visit?
If anything else, they are doing their homework. They have the tape, but want to see him in person. Plus, it will give the opportunity to talk to him and be able to get some insight as to his brain and his heart, which Arians says are the two most important muscles to be successful at the position.
Is there reason to believe that he's their guy? Not necessarily. The would be remiss not to do their due diligence and see what he has got.
