Adrian Wilson gives parting message to Arizona Cardinals fans

He uses Instagram to convey his feelings to the Red Sea.

You can imagine that safety Adrian Wilson was disappointed that the Arizona Cardinals released him. He believes he can still play at a high level. He has only played for the Cardinals, in the terrible, in the glorious and in the disappointing again.

He is connected to this place. He has raised his children here, so it must be difficult to say goodbye.

Nonetheless, he took a few moments to convey a kind message to Cardinals fans via his Instagram account.

"It's been an honor and a pleasure Cardinals fans. 12 years of heart and dedication and loyalty. 1 day we will celebrate the #24 together. 24"

The team announced that he will one day join the Ring of Honor.

This departure, while disappointing, is different than when Anquan Boldin left. Boldin's relationship with the team was acrimonious because of contract issues. Wilson was taken care of by the team, and then last year he took care of the team by taking a pay cut. Then he accepted a demotion with dignity.

While his tenure in Arizona is over, I get a suspicion that he will do what a few team icons have done with their long time teams -- come back to the team for a day so he can announce his retirement from the game as a member of the Cardinals.

Can you see that? I can.
