Running back Javarris James has had a rough offseason so far. It was announced that the league suspended James for four games due to a substance abuse violation. Now, he was arrested on Thursday. According to the report, he was arrested in Lee County, Florida for failure to appear for his November 13th court date. He was originally arrested June 9, 2011 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.
It would appear that the suspension is related to this 2011 arrest and perhaps the missed court date.
James was on injured reserve the entire season for the Cardinals in 2012. He is an exclusive rights free agent, but between the new coaching staff, the arrests and the suspension, I would not expect that he returns to the team in 2013.
