The talk around the town is the chance the Arizona Cardinals have of acquiring quarterback Carson Palmer from the Oakland Raiders. SI's Peter King calls a trade "inevitable." he also says that a trade is not only a perfect fit for the Cardinals, but also for Palmer.
What would the Cardinals give up? A fourth or a fifth rounder. he does not mention a salary number for a reworked deal, but it would be "commensurate with his recent performance but recognizing his chance for a revival playing for Bruce Arians and playing with Larry Fitzgerald."
The most intriguing thing about what King had to say? He says that Palmer is chomping at the bit to show that he has an NFL arm. "I hear he's excited about a chance in Arizona," writes King. "A move would allow him to stay close to his southern California home, and to play in a system that wouldn't be a reach for his game. And Palmer would have the kind of reliable deep-threat receiver in Larry Fitzgerald that few quarterbacks have at their disposal."
The downside? The move likely doesn't make the Cardinals a contender in their division, simply the result of an ultra competitive NFC West.
King believes that Palmer's arrival in Arizona manes no QB in round one for the Cardinals, although many of us believe that they aren't going that route anyway.
Could Palmer really be excited about coming to Arizona? Maybe the fans aren't the only ones that see a possible Kurt Warner type scenario.
