2013 NFL schedule not going to be released Tuesday as originally planned

Originally set to be released April 16, it could be a week or two before we all know when our teams play.

Tuesday, April 16 was the day that the 2013 NFL schedule was to be released, giving people yet one more reason to pay attention to the league. However, per a report by Pro Football Talk, there will be a delay in the release.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello informed PFT of the new via email. "It will not be tomorrow but could be in the next week or two," Aiello wrote. "We're working to finalize it."

There was at least one scheduling conflict, as the league hoped to open the season with the Baltimore Ravens at home, but the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball is scheduled the same day. Their stadiums are adjacent and share parking lots. No resolution has been reached yet, but this could be a reason for the delay of the NFL schedule.

The opponents each team will face are already known. It is a matter of putting those opponents in specific weeks and which will be prime time games. The Arizona Cardinals will play each of their NFC West opponents twice, teams from the AFC South teams and NFC South teams.

There home and road opponents look like this:

Home:

49ers, Seahawks, Rams, Colts, Texans, Panthers, Falcons, Lions

Road:

49ers, Seahawks, Rams, Titans, Jaguars, Saints, Buccaneers, Eagles
