The Arizona Cardinals were backed into a tough corner with the top 3 tackles and top 3 pass rushers all taken in the first six picks. Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel, Dion Jordan, Lane Johnson, Ezekiel Ansah and Barkevious Mingo were all chosen. But while the Cardinals didn't have a franchise OT, there were still choices.
Some of the highest ranked players at most other positions were still avaiable including Sharrif Floyd, Star Lotulelei,Dee Miliner, Jarvis Jones, Tavon Austin and even fellow guard Chance Warmack. All would have been potential upgrades to the respective positions.
While any of those players would have helped the Cardinals next year it cannot be denied Offensive Guard is far away the weakest position on the team and had to be addressed at some point in the draft. Adam Synder and Daryn Colledge were huge disappointments and moving Nate Potter would not be enough no matter how well he played.
Jonathan Cooper is thought very highly and his ceiling as a player has been Alan Fanaca, who was an absolute monster every year except when Fanaca was in a Cardinals uniform. Typical.
