With the offseason being fllled thus far with turbulence for linebacker Daryl Washington after a suspension under the NFL substance abuse policy and a domestic violence arrest, the Arizona Cardinals are reportedly turning to a familiar face to give themselves an insurance policy at the inside linebacker position.
According to XTRA 910's Mike Jurecki, the Cardinals will have free agent linebacker Karlos Dansby, a former Cardinal, in for a visit on Wednesday.
Dansby was released by the Miami Dolphins after three years of the five-year contract he signed with Miami in 2010.
In his three years with Miami, Dansby started 45 of the 46 games in which he played, recording 6 sacks, 1 interception, 5 forced fumbles, and 333 tackles. He signed a five year, $42.5 million contract with the Dolphins after six years with the Arizona Cardinals.
Dansby has not gotten much interest yet from around he league, but with the availability very much up in the air, they could use another playmaker. If a contract is signed, I fully expect nothing more than a one=year deal.
