No contract talk happened, though.

The Arizona Cardinals and free agent linebacker Karlos Dansby met on Wednesday. The team is considering adding him to the roster, now that Daryl Washington's status for the 2013 is unknown beyond the first four weeks of the season, when he will be serving a suspension given to him by the NFL.

How did that visit between the team and Dansby?

According to XTRA 910's Mike Jurecki, "it was good."

For Cardinals fans, this just means more waiting. Keim handled other free agents at the start of the new league year a little differently. He had a contract offer on the table that would not be valid if the player left. Clearly the Cards don't feel they need him desperately.

What were some interesting thoughts on the situation are what Kent Somers wrote on how the Cards are showing off some leverage all over the place. They are sending Washington the message that he has to get his crap together because he is replaceable. They are addressing a need on the team with a talented player. They are also sending Dansby the message that, while they want him, they don't necessarily need him, keeping the price down.

It doesn't sound like Dansby to the Cards is anything close to being a reality.
