NFL roster cuts: Arizona Cardinals release 3 players

A pair of linemen and kicker are unemployed now.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals have to trim their roster form 90 to 75 players by next week. They have begun that process, as they let go of three players.

Kicker/punter Will Batson and offensive linemen Scott Wedige and Kyle Quinn were the players to be let go.

None of them were really considered to have a shot a the final roster.

The moves could be just letting go a few players early, or it could be a precursor of acquiring players off waivers. There are a couple of kickers on the market and the Cardinals could perhaps be looking to add someone to push Jay Feely, who has missed two field goals in two preseason games, including a "chip shot," as Bruce Arians called it, from 30 yards on Saturday.
