"Let's not go and say I'm versatile. I've never played center, so it could mean a lack of versatility if it doesn't go well," said Colledge. "I think in the NFL, especially an older guy in the NFL, the more you can do the better off you are.
"He needs to start playing," Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Monday. "I can't evaluate him unless he plays."
"I think most of the guys in here respect him -- the guys that know him and played with him," said Colledge. "Then again, I probably know that he'll have his mind set on making a point (to beat us)."
Despite a small sample size, his 32-yard performance with the first-team offense was enough to earn rave reviews from his head coach.
"Scoring touchdowns," he said Monday when asked what the biggest concern with the first-team offense was. "Just executing in the red zone; just minor things."
Monday morning his head coach, Bruce Arians, said "he needs to start playing," and Williams said he's hopeful he'll be able to play Saturday against the San Diego Chargers.
