Arizona Cardinals to play starters vs Broncos, but only a little

The final preseason game could be played without Carson Palmer

The Arizona Cardinals are going to go the route of many NFL teams in their final preseason tuneup. According to head coach Bruce Arians, per the team's official website, the starters will play, but only a little bit.

One starter that might not see any time is quarterback Carson Palmer.

That would leave backups Drew Stanton and Ryan Lindley to shoulder the load. It will be a very important game for Lindley, who despite having no competition for the number three quarterback spot, may not make the roster. Arians has said that he would consider keeping only two QBs. Lindley is not eligible for the practice squad.

One player that will get his share of looks will be running back Ryan Williams. Arians said that Williams would get the majority of the carries in the running game.

What we will see a lot of are players battling for the final spots on the 53-man roster. Who will be reserve offensive linemen? Which defensive backs will it be? Which receivers will be playing behind Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and Andre Roberts?

These players are playing to not only make the team, but also get some good playing on film for other teams.

Teams have to trim their rosters to 53 men by August 31.
