Arizona Cardinals add DL Cordian Hagans, release Josh Hill

In another move to add defensive lineman depth, the Cards are awarded their waiver claim on a defensive lineman.

USA TODAY Sports

With the defensive line suffering from several injuries, the Arizona Cardinals have added another player to the mix. They were awarded their waiver claim on defensive end Cordian Hagans, who had been placed on waivers by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

To make room for Hagans, the team released cornerback Josh Hill, one of the undrafted rookies they brought in.

Hagans (6-4, 299) is a rookie free agent who played collegiately at Louisiana-Lafayette, setting career highs with 41 tackles, five sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries as a senior in 2012. He played his final two collegiate seasons with the Ragin Cajuns and appeared in 26 games after spending his first two years at LSU where he was an offensive lineman. As a junior in 2011, Hagans had 18 tackles with two tackles for loss and a pair of quarterback hurries.
