While the "Cardiac Cards" pulled out a 25-21 win against Detroit on Sunday, it was an overall average day for the team in the world of Fantasy Football. A few surprises stepped up big to haul in dividends for their owners, while the team's stars seemed to underachieve.
Rashard Mendenhall - 14 Points: Mendenhall had a decent outing for the Cardinals, rushing 15 times for 66 yards, as well as bringing in two receptions for 28 yards. But his biggest feat of the day was the game-clinching TD that also pushed his final point-total up. This is a vast improvement over the mere 6 points he scored last week. Mendenhall owners have to be happy with this one.
Jay Feely - 15 Points: Feely may have been in Coach Arians' and his fantasy owner's doghouse before, but he's definitely out of it now. Feely was the second highest scoring Kicker on in Week 2, only being beaten by San Diego's Nick Novak.
Larry Fitzgerald - 3 Points: It was not the star WR's best day by any means. Coming off a massive 20 point haul just the week before, Fitz's performance was hampered by a hamstring injury, which essentially took him out of the game by the 4th quarter. If you were like me, and started him, your chances of winning most probably took a huge hit due to this injury-struck outing.
League-wide:
Aaron Rodgers - 35 Points: Rodgers led all players in scoring this week, by going 34-42 for an incredible 480 yards and 4 TD's. While it was no Manning Week 1-esque performance, it definitely got the job done. But is anyone actually surprised by this?
Calvin Johnson - 23 Points: While Johnson's performance on Sunday may have incurred the hatred of every Cardinals fan alike, he delighted his fantasy owners by pulling in 6 receptions for 116 yards and two TD's against Arizona. Hopefully Patrick Peterson learned a lot from this match-up.
Marshawn Lynch - 30 Points: Lynch had a monstrous performance against the rival 49ers on Sunday Night Football, scoring 21 points of the Seahawks total 29 off of 28 rushes for 98 yards and two TD's, as well as 3 receptions for 31 yards and one TD. It's safe to say that Lynch may have decided many, many fantasy game this week.
