2014 NFL Draft: The Johnny Manziel chatter and the Arizona Cardinals

If there is one player that is causing more intrigue this year as teams, fans and analysts prepare for the NFL Draft, it is quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Manziel is expected to be picked as high as the first five picks, even though most people seem to be unsure exactly how successful he will be in the NFL.

The production in college in undeniable. His escapability is also amazing. He can make all the throws. This isn't a Tim Tebow story. He also wins. He makes plays. He gets his teammates fired up. However, there are questions about his size and durability because of his playing style.

As for the Arizona Cardinals, there appears to be some interest. Mike Jurecki has said on the air that the team has interest in him. Our own Seth Cox has heard the same thing.

Some believe that the Cardinals are one of the best spots for Manziel to land.

However, ESPN's Josh Weinfuss does not believe that Manziel is the guy for Bruce Arians and his offense. It is because of his stature. He points out the commonality between all the QBs to find success in his offense. What do they all have in common? They're big and tall with strong throwing arms.

Manning was 6-foot-5, 230 pounds.

Roethlisberger was 6-5, 240.

Luck was 6-4, 234.

Palmer was 6-5, 230.

Manziel? 6-1, 210. He has the arm. He just doesn't have the size.

The truth is that, as of right now, the chances of the former Heisman winner making it anywhere even close to the 20th pick when Arizona makes their first round selection are close to zero.
