Cardinals Tryout Kicker

The offseason is trudging along, and the Cardinals have tried out a potential Kicker.

I was sitting there in the middle of Spanish class trying not to fall asleep (No offense to Senor Root), and I felt a sudden sharp vibration from my phone. I gazed down when the teacher turned his back, and took a peak. Staring at me was a report that Arizona had tried out Norwegian Kicker, Havard Rugland. He is better known as "Kickalicious" in the NFL for his amazing trick shots.

Now, it's nothing humongous that he's being tried out, plenty of players come through the facility to be tried out, most hardly make it. What's intriguing about Rugland, is that he's a "big name".

His first chance to play professional football came this preseason with the Detroit Lions. During his short time, he went 3/3, one of which was 50 yards. He appears to be able to punt and kick field goals, which could help us eliminate signing a Punter. (Yes Zastudil will probably return)

What could be the deciding factor is his kickoffs. The Saints have two kickers, one for kickoffs, one for punting, and a punter. Could Arizona do the same? I don't believe so, but based on how Rugland appears kicking the ball, kickoffs should likely be a non-factor.

But again, it's early in the offseason, teams are beginning to construct their initial 90-man rosters, and signings like these are commonalities. We shall see how this plays out for the team and Rugland.
