Arizona Cardinals promote Terry McDonough to replace Jason Licht

The front office sees some movement.

The Arizona Cardinals announced that they have made an organizational move in the front office, promoting Terry McDonough to VP of Player Personnel, the position that Jason Licht occupied until he left the team to become the general manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

McDonough joined the Cardinals last year as an Eastern Regional Scout after spending the previous 10 years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, including the last four seasons as the team's Director of Player Personnel after being promoted in 2009.

A 22-year NFL veteran, McDonough joined the Jaguars in 2003 after working with the Cleveland Browns (1992-95) and then the Ravens (1996-2003) after the organization moved to Baltimore. During McDonough's tenure with the Ravens, the team won Super Bowl XXXV following the 2000 season. He began his scouting career as an intern with the San Francisco 49ers in 1989 before being named player personnel director with the Barcelona Dragons of the World League in 1990.

His brother, Ryan, is the General Manager of the Phoenix Suns. Terry is the son of the late Will McDonough, the long-time columnist for the Boston Globe and his other brother, Sean, is a play-by-play announcer on ESPN.
