NFL week 5 inactives, Cardinals vs. Broncos: Carson Palmer not dressing, Alex Okafor replaces Thomas Keiser

Who will not dress for either team?

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The inactive lists are out for both the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos. There are no big surprises for either team. Quarterback Carson Palmer, who was not going to start anyway, is inactive for the Cardinals, meaning rookie Logan Thomas is the backup to Drew Stanton. For Denver, the most significant news is that Danny Travathan is active.

The inactives for Arizona are QB Carson Palmer, RB Marion Grice, TE Darren Fells, LB Glenn Carson, LB Desmond Bishop, DT Bruce Gaston and LB Thomas Keiser.

Grice, Bishop and Gaston were all signed since the Cardinals' last game. Their inclusion on the inactive list is understandable, but it does mean Arizona has a short bench at running back. They have only three active -- Andre Ellington, Stepfan Taylor and Robert Hughes.

Keiser's addition to the inactive list means Alex Okafor will get to play for the first time this season and for the first time since Week 3 of last season, when he was lost for the season to injury.

How much he plays is the question. One would imagine he would take Keiser's snaps. Keiser played only 14 snaps against the 49ers as rookie Kareem Martin got significant time rushing from the edge.

Denver's inactives are RB C.J. Anderson, S David Bruton, G Ben Garland, WR Cody Latimer, LB Lerentee McCray, T Michael Schofield and DT Mitch Unreln
