You would think the world is ending and the sky is falling the way people are talking about the Arizona Cardinals after a 41-20 loss to the Denver Broncos.

The latest show from our podcast, Revenge of the Birds Radio, doesn't help a lot. Seth Cox and I have a hard time staying too positive, but not so much because of the loss. It is more about the losses -- the injuries -- the team continues to suffer.

The hottest topic we lead with -- the dirty chop block by Denver tight end Julius Thomas. We discuss our thoughts as well as those of Bruce Arians and Larry Foote. The conclusion? Thomas is either really dumb or really dirty.

We talk about the laundry list of injuries and how they will affect the team moving forward. Todd Bowles has his work cut out for him.

We go over the good, the bad and the ugly in the loss, and we even forget to talk about the drops, except for cursory mention after moving on.

Logan Thomas -- what if he is the starter? I am a little more pessimistic than Seth, which doesn't happen a lot. If Thomas is starting on Sunday, I think Arizona will be lucky to come out of Sunday with a win, even at home.

Lastly, we talk about expectations for the season -- do we need to change them?

And it comes down to this -- are we ready to put the team's fortunes this season squarely on Carson Palmer's shoulders?
