If there is one thing that will be fun to watch on Sunday between the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys, it is how the Cardinals defense does against DeMarco Murray the Dallas rushing offense.
Here are some numbers to chew on:
- Arizona is number three in the league in rush defense, allowing 77.9 yards per game. Dallas has the league's best rushing offense, gaining an average of 160.5 yards per game.
- Arizona has allowed only one team to reach 100 yards on the ground this season. Dallas has not rushed for less than 120 in a game this season.
- DeMarco Murray has reached 100 yards rushing in each of the the team's first eight games. Arizona has allowed only one 100-yard rusher since the start of 2013. That was in Week 6 of last season, when Frank Gore gained 101 yards on 25 carries.
- Arizona has allowed only one run of 20 yards or more. It was a 20-yarder in Week 1. Since then, Arizona has not allowed a run of more than 16 yards. Murray has nine rushes for at least 20 yards on the season.
You have to figure in this game something has to give. Which one will it be? Chances are the team that can show its will keep its identity will win the football game.
