Tuesday night, Seth Cox and I got on the air again for another episode of Revenge of the Birds Radio. There was much to discuss after the Cardinals ended their two-game losing streak and defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 17-14 to improve to 10-3 on the season.
On the show, we talked about the good and the bad in the win.
What was some of the good? They were able to run the ball effectively. They made defensive adjustments. They didn't turn the ball over. They played Arizona Cardinals football, doing just enough to win.
What was some of the bad? The defense gave up a 63-yard TD run and 126 yards on the ground overall. The defense gave up more points right before the half. Drew Stanton looked very erratic.
Is Kerwynn Williams the answer to the problems in the running game? We also talked about the surprise from Sunday's game, Williams' 100-yard performance. We liked the vision and patience he had and his ability to get positive yardage on basically every carry. We try to attribute credit for his game -- how much was him, how much was adding Jonathan Cooper and how much was the fact the Chiefs have been pretty bad against the run?
We talked about Cooper's play as well.
Then we talked about the playoff picture. It comes down to this in the division -- they have to beat Seattle and win one more game to win the NFC West. The Seattle game is the key.
We closed with a look at the Rams game.
