Wednesday meant the first day of practice for the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs and the first injury report. We know that the Cardinals have quite the list of injured players, but there was one who came back -- Larry Fitzgerald.
Arizona four players who did not participate in practice and a fifth, Tyrann Mathieu, who has been ruled out for this week already, as he was scheduled to have surgery on his broken and dislocated thumb.
Running back Andre Ellington (hip), defensive lineman Ed Stinson (toe), guard Paul Fanaika (ankle) and tackle Jared Velldheer (ankle) did not practice at all. That meant Marion Grice, Jonathan Cooper and Bradley Sowell were getting first team reps. From what was described by reporters, Ellington was not moving around well.
Fitzgerald was limited, according to the injury report, but head coach Bruce Arians said he would be a full go.
Also limited were linebacker Lorenzo Alexander (knee) and linebacker Kenny Demens (hamstring).
Kansas City had its share of injuries. Defensive end Allen Bailey (concussion), receiver Junior Hemingway (concussion) and guard Mike McGlynn (quad) sat out on Wednesday.
Receiver Donnie Avery (groin), tight end Anthony Fasano (knee) and linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) were all limited in some fashion.
Everyone else was a full go.
