It is known that the Arizona Cardinals plan on using free agency to upgrade the team's offensive line. With a slew of quality tackles on the market, they could be in play for one of many of the available guys; however, there is one name that keeps popping up -- Branden Albert.
According to Arizona Republic beat writer Kent Somers, Albert is Arizona's top offensive line target. This is nothing new. Last offseason, the team spoke with Kansas City about a possible trade for Albert. Clearly, general manager Steve Keim likes him.
After Albert, the Cardinals are also eyeing Rodger Saffold, who has played both guard and tackle for the St. Louis Rams over the last four seasons. Saffold was the Rams' starting left tackle for three seasons before they signed Jake Long last offseason.
Other highly touted tackles that are expected to hit the free agent market on Tuesday include Eugene Monroe, Jared Veldheer and Anthony Collins. However, none of these names have come up in any reports as being connected to the Cardinals.
Free agency officially begins on Tuesday. Will the Cardinals have someone already contract -- Albert, Saffold or otherwise -- by the end of the day?
