The NFL offseason is a slow and boring process. There's a couple of dates that bring excitement, free agency, draft, and of course the offseason workouts with players. Workouts usually start towards the end of April, some start earlier due to the hiring of new coaches.
April 21st: Strength and Conditioning Begins
Players can only work with Pete Alosi, Roger Kingdom, and Buddy Morris starting on this day. No positional drills or work allowed.
May 5th: On-Field Work w/ Coaching
Players can begin to work with their positional coaches. No offense vs defense or helmets permitted.
May 20-22, 27-29, & June 2-5: OTA's
Offense vs defense begins, helmets are allowed. Like last year, I expect two field to be used. Starters or projected starters on one field, camp bodies and depth on another field.
May 23-25: Rookie Minicamp
Because the draft is a few weeks later this year, rookies won't be able to hit the field until the end of May. Won't be able to participate in Strength and Condition, nor the start of on-field work.
June 10-12: Minicamp
Everything prior to this is optional for veterans. This is the last mandatory event veterans must participate in before they are off until Training Camp begins.
If you are one of those fans who is interested in attending the Cardinals Charity Golf Event, that will be held on April 23rd at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler.
