Another week begins, and there is another mock draft from SB Nation's Dan Kadar. In this week's two round projections, there is a trade at the top of the draft, as the Atlanta Falcons trade to the top spot to land Jadeveon Clowney. That shapes how things play out.
As for the Arizona Cardinals, despite many other mocks with a the Cardinals taking a tackle or a cornerback, but ignoring the safety position, this time one of the best at the position falls to the Cards with the 20th pick -- Louisville's Calvin Pryor.
Time to publicly come to grips with Cardinals fans. In last week's mock draft, I gave Arizona a cornerback instead of Pryor. The Louisville thumper is a better choice than any cornerback the Cardinals could add here. He's a tone-setting safety who can play the run and drop in coverage.
After waiting another round, the Cards pick up a tackle -- a guy I have not heard much of, to be honest. They take Tenensse tackle Ja'Wuan James.
Left tackle Jared Veldheer was a shrewd free-agent signing, but the Cardinals still have some work to do up front. James is a better right tackle than anyone Arizona has on the roster currently and could go a long way in shoring up the line.
A safety and a tackle? I imagine that many of you readers will love the Pryor pick. In reality, he probably won't be around by the time the Cards pick.
What do you think of this mock scenario that Kadar presents?
