The Arizona Cardinals began their team drills with the coaching staff on Monday, as Phase 2 of the team's offseason program began. Again, these are voluntary workouts, but we can at least try to glean a few things from what we see.
The team website has a photo slideshow of the first day of practice and one thing stuck out (as noted by a reader here on the site).
In this photo, you can see who the "starting" offensive line is for now. The left side is as expected -- Jared Veldheer, Jonathan Cooper and Lyle Sendlein. The right side might raise some eyebrows. It was Paul Fanaika and Bradley Sowell on the first team line.
To be clear, you can't take too much from this, but it does make sense. Fanaika was last year's starting right guard, so why wouldn't he be running with the ones. Last year's starting RT, Eric Winston, remains unsigned, while Sowell started at left tackle. That should mean he would be the "starter" at right tackle, at least to start.
In the photos, I did not see either Bobby Massie or Ted Larsen. Either one of those two could also end up starting.
In other observations, Nate Potter was the second team left tackle, Philip Blake, who was on the team's practice squad last season, was the second team left guard, John Estes was the backup center and Earl Watford was at right guard on the second team. Again, I didn't see any right tackle in the photos.
Veteran linebacker Lorenzo Alexander was seen with the second team at inside linebacker -- at "mike," where Kevin Minter is expected to start.
