You could easily say that Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim had himself a successful draft so far.
All offseason, he said that one of the biggest goals for the team was to get longer and more athletic at safety. He also said that the goal with the draft was to acquire more picks in a deep draft.
So what does he do Day 1?
He takes Deone Bucannon in the first round, a safety that is longer and faster than the guys that they have on the roster -- a guy that succeeded in the Pac-12, a passing league. They also did so by trading back, acquiring an extra pick in the third round.
If you had to give Keim and the Cardinals a grade for Day 1 of the draft, what would it be? Would you give them an A so far, or is it just too early to tell.
Do you like the Bucannon pick? Do you like the trade back? Did they take him too early? If so, who sould have been their first round selection?
