The 2014 NFL supplemental draft is coming up on July 11. The Arizona Cardinals have only used the supplemental draft twice in their history -- in 1989 and 1990, to take quarterback Timm Rosenbach and tight end Willie Williams.
But perhaps they are thinking of using a pick this week.
On Monday, according to NFL Draft Diamonds, the Cardinals were one of 12 teams reportedly present for the Pro Day for Lakendrick Ross, who attended Virginia University of Lynchburg.
Ross is massive -- 6'4, 366 pounds, with a wingspan of 83.5 inches (a shade under seven feet). He ran the 40-yard dash in about 5.4-5.5 seconds, with a 1.81-second 10-yard split.
The team will need to think about the future of the nose tackle position. Dan Williams is in the final year of his contract and Alameda Ta'amu is coming back from a torn ACL. Ross would be a huge player to have at the point of attack.
This guy is athletic. Watch.
The likely scenario is that the team is simply kicking the tires and doing their due diligence, especially should he go undrafted.
Do you think they would pull the trigger on this guy? If so, in what "round" of the supplemental draft should he go?
