The Arizona Cardinals have until 1 PM Arizona time on Saturday trim their rosters down from 75 to 53 players and be under the salary cap. The reports are already coming out of some of the cuts.
Kent Somers reported that receiver Dan Buckner will be among those players released, which should shock no one.
Two veteran defensive players are reportedly out the door. Rand Gaitlin reported that outside linebacker Marcus Benard has been waived.
Gaitlin also reported that the Cardinals have also waived veteran defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga, whom they signed a week ago.
On the offensive side, Gaitlin also reported that offensive lineman John Estes has also been waived.
That means there are 18 players left to cut, plus more to accompany waiver claims and other post-cut signings.
The team reportedly has interest in veteran linebacker James Harrison.
We will keep you posted on players that we hear about.
