The Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers have released their seven-man inactive list for their game that begins at 1 PM Arizona time.
For Arizona there are little surprises. Tight end Rob Housler, who injured his hip during the week, is inactive, which means significant playing time for rookie Troy Niklas. We already knew that Carson Palmer would not start, but the quarterback is also inactive for Arizona, meaning rookie Logan Thomas is the backup to Drew Stanton.
Punter Dave Zastudil is also out, as that was his game status as of Friday, As he did the past two weeks, Drew Butler will handle punting duties, and as he did last week, he will also hold for kicker Chandler Catanzaro.
Newly signed linebacker Victor Butler, linebacker Glenn Carson, linebacker Alex Okafor and defensive tackle Alameda Ta'amu round out the inactives.
For San Francisco, they will be without tight ends Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald. That means Derek Carrier will get the start at tight end.
Another pair of starters -- cornerback Trumaine Brock and right tackle Anthony Davis -- are also inactive. Replacing them will be Preeish Cox and Jonathan Martin.
Rounding out the inactives for the visiting 49ers are receiver Quinton Patton, center Marcus Martin and DT Tank Carradine.
